Corporate Social Responsibility
The East African Development Bank recognises that socially responsible business practices affect all aspects of business operations and contribute significantly to corporate productivity and profitability. The Bank is committed to achieving financial success in ways that honour ethical values and respect people, communities and the natural environment in the region.
In this regard, EADB has not only invested heavily in its staff but also continues to support society in the areas of health, education, community service, infrastructure and the environment.
Enviroment We recognize the importance of conservation of forests and are keen to encourage the reforestation of water catchment areas in the region.
Education Our organisation understands the important role played by education in any community. It is in this light that the Bank has supported the Kagunda Millenium Learning Centre Trust in Kenya. The Centre aims at supporting a sustainable supply of reading and learning material to the inhabitants of Kagunda in Central Province Kenya, thereby empowering the local community.
Community Service With our business spanning the three East African countries, EADB has touched thousands of lives all over the region by being involved with various community service projects.
The Bank has partnered with MTN Uganda in support of the Uganda Red Cross Mama Bag appeal which seeks to purchase kits to help save the lives of new born children and their mothers in IDP Camps in Northern Uganda.
Further the Bank has given support to WFP’s Walk the World Initiative which is an annual global event organised to raise awareness and funds to end child hunger.
