Bank Structure
The Bank structure comprises of the following;
Governing Council
The Governing Council is the supreme governing body of the East African Development Bank as mandated by the Bank's Charter. The Governing Council is composed of the Ministers of Finance of the Member States. The current members of the Governing Council are;
- Hon. Syda Bbumba, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Republic of Uganda (Chairman)
- Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Republic of Kenya
- Hon. Mustapha Mkulo, Minister of Finance, United Republic of Tanzania
- Hon. John Rwangombwa Minister of Finance, Republic of Rwanda
Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel comprises eminent persons in international finance who provide the Bank with strategic guidance on its mandate. The current Advisory Panel members are:
- Mr. Jannik Lindbaek, Former Vice-President and CEO, International Finance Corporation
- Mr. Lars Ekengren, Deputy Director General, Swedish International Development Agency
- Mr. Toyoo Gyohten, Senior Advisor, Bank of Tokyo
- Mr. Mahesh K. Kotecha , Structured Credit Corporation & Chairman, Capital Markets Assurance Corporation, New York .
Board of Directors
All powers of the Bank are, subject to the provisions of the Bank’s Charter, vested in the Board of Directors. The Board comprises Finance Permanent Secretaries of the member states, a representative from African Development Bank (AfDB), a representative from DEG/FMO and four representatives from the member states' private sectors. Members of the current board are:
- Mr. Alhaj Ramadhan M. Khijjah, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, United Republic of Tanzania - Chairman
- Ms. Kampeta Sayinzoga, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Republic of Rwanda.
- Mr. Christopher Kassami, Permanent Secretary/Secretary to Treasury, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Republic of Uganda.
- Mr. Joseph Kinyua, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Republic of Kenya.
- Mr. Bhargav Purohit, Director representing AfDB
